A piece of mail featuring the swastika on the postmark and a stamp with anti-Jewish imagery, advertising the staunchly anti-Jewish publication Der Sturmer. Mailed in 1936.
Another Der Sturmer label, this one on an envelope mailed in 1937.
A postcard advertising Der Sturmer and featuring the anti-Jewish logo that had “gone viral” through the mail.
Another postcard featuring the ugly anti-Jewish logo.
The classified ads page in this 1939 issue of Der Sturmer features an ad for publisher Julius Streicher’s book Hofjuden.
Julius Streicher’s book Hofjuden, aims to trace Jewish control over banking and society (a common trope) from the “Court Jews” of the middle ages to present day. Needless to say, it is neither factual nor flattering.
This advertisement in a 1939 issue of Der Sturmer is titled “Beggars and Idlers,” and features unflattering and caricatured photos of several Jewish men, along with text promoting hateful tropes and stereotypes.
The cover of this 1939 Der Sturmer (the same issue featuring the “Beggars and Idlers” ad) features the paper’s slogan, “The Jews are our misfortune.” The cover article, “Gold from Blood” accuses Jews of profiteering from conflict.
The frontispiece and title page of Streicher’s Hofjuden
Another postcard, this one mailed in 1934, featuring Streicher’s anti-Jewish label.
